I'm Max Lachmann, passionate commuter and bycicle mechanic. I've been following the Urwahn Bikes in social media for quite some time now and I was very excited to finally put the Stadtfuchs through its paces. Through a friend and trading partner of Urwahn the time was right. I was allowed to bring one of the first Stadtfuchs onto the street in Frankfurt am Main and didn't burn anything.
From the first seconds I was very impressed by the riding comfort, which comes from the comfortable grips, saddle and the elastic rear end. Shocks and uneven road surfaces are simply swallowed up. In contrast, the stiffness of the steel frame especially in the steering head and bottom bracket. This makes the Stadtfuchs very agile to ride and the pure muscle power is promptly rewarded with a tight drive similar to an e-bike boost. The Shimano Alfine 11-speed hub gear also guarantees a wide range of gear ratios to wind your way through the traffic faster or slower.
But you have to be prepared for one thing. The striking design of the Stadtfuchs doesn't get unnoticed and you are asked at regular intervals. The design language is reminiscent of the organic look of modern carbon frames, but here, the frame is made of steel. With a total weight of approx. 12 kg, the Stadtfuchs does not have hide from his distant relatives of aluminium and is in no way inferior to them in terms of equipment features. On the contrary, the high quality standard and the eye for detail run through the whole bike.
I've never ridden such a comfortable urban bike with this dynamic and stiffness. Chapeau!
